Namrin has become a brand new Namrin

If you have read my post a week ago, you will somehow recall that today is the day I will change my hair colour and highlight some of it. I think highlighting is the most important part this time because I want it to be vivid, to expose their true colours. However, my natural hair is almost black. ...say very dark brown. It ain't easy to get colourful tone.

Still a hard choice for me which colour I would like to highlight. I see one result from my workmate she dyed her hair with dark orange and highlighted with copper. It works pretty well but I can guess that. (I did red before.) One friend voted for violet, another voted for red and the other friend voted for blue .....hmmm.....umm....

"I'd like to have red and blue...the vivid blue" I told the hair technician. "The base colour would be just like my natural hair colour. You think it works?" I told my desire further. She nodded and commented a few things. To be honest, I was very worried about the blue thing. There were 2 workmates finished their tests before one did the green and it looked green in the grey tone. It's hard to see the green colour really. I can tell she's slightly disappointed but it's not bad because it doesn't make her look less appealing. It's just not what she expected. Another girl did the blue but it becomes drey also...the blue shade is too light in it. She is also disappointed but I think she looks cool, just like Rogue in X-Men :-)

Therefore, I emphasize again and again to make sure I get the colour I want. Thank them for listening to me and interpret my need into correct colours so they gave me pure colours. For how to design where the colours should be on my head, I left that to the trainer/technicain to make a decision for you. I have to say I'm 80% happy. I think she should give me more blue part on my head but then, I should have told them but I didn't!! So I won't complain them but I'm a bit murmuring here with you LOL!

Because I'm the first case of multicolour in all the test cases they have today so it took the longest time to do it. You wanna guess?

It's 3.5 hours! From 2PM until 5.30PM -_-"The others took about 2-2.5 hours only!
Here is my result

Brand New Namrin

With my good old (new) spectacles
Hair test Day I
She did purple but as a base not a highlight...so the colour is not obvious

The green head...the most greenish of the day but she blends it with yellow tone so it's not like green green.

The copper head

My lovely Rogue! xx The grey is supposed to be blue in her thought! lol

She thought it should be greener too. I think there must be some problems in the communication. If you notice, the light part is slight greyish green but it's hard to see.

Hair test Day II
Last year I did something similar to this.

Green Blonde as base and Grey Green as highlight. Look nice because we have bright light and nice long hair...which was straightened. We sell everything about hair lol.

He got the smoky blue. Actually it's bluer if you see him in person but little less vivid than mine. For this pic, I have to blame the light not bright enough.

The man of the day!! A pink Mohawk(ish). It meant to look like that, fade pink highlight. He is our finance manager, by the way.

So I did a bit of blue on my bang, the side and the back of my head and did red on bottom inner part of my hair. Blue and Red = Purple. I make everyone happy, don't I? :-D

BedSupperClub and Nomad

Happy Birthday Trevor :-)

One of the most important things apart from visiting 2 clubs today is to see a dentist. It's important because I haven't seen the dentist for more than 12 months which is really bad and I'm so so sooooo afraid that I will have any serious tooth problem. I should have come earlier but I don't like seeing a dentist really. Who loves it, right?

Thank gosh! Nothing is so serious this time. When I said "Nothing is so serious this time", it means I only had a couple of filling up, a bit of gum problem, and they removed erm...tartar, LOL. I think I've gone a bit into detail, hehe. OK at the end the dental cost is bloody high! 3100 baht! And the insurance that the company giving to employees covers for only 2000 baht per year. Gee! Maybe I should go to a small clinic next time. However, the dentist is very kind and good looking hahaha and nurses are helpful too.

After cleaning my teeth, I sneaked to Bed Supper Club tonight. Wow! It's a huge club, cool interior design and pricey with an interesting concept (putting many beds in a club). Entrance fee is 700 baht ($US 20) per person. If you don't mind, I would like to re-consider lol.

I think it's one of the top-end clubs in BKK so they screened people with entrance fee. I have heard of this place for a long time but never had a chance to go until tonight. I checked out inside as a visitor (The club allowed me to see the place for free for 5 minutes) and I was impressed. However, as nobody wanted to come along with me, I left BSC after the tour.

I headed to Nomad, a club nearby but on different alley. And on the way I found this pub....for God's sake. You know I didn't take the photo because I'm a big fan....rather the opposite reason. And I'm telling you I will never stay or let you stay at President Palace Hotel in Sukhumvit 11 EVER!!

Hang on what I just saw???

Oh NOOOOO!!!

BOOOOOOOO!

Nomad, I have never heard of LOL. Anyway, it's not so busy and I found it quite cosy and nicely decorative in Indian/Arabian style. Free entrance. Brilliant! :-) So I met some friends there before we hit the floor for an hour...it's 15 mins to 11 PM Then, I left to my place.

No photos from BSC
Photos from Nomad:

Our seat. I'm the 1st person who arrived! (which is unusual lol)

My drink so you know it doesn't contain alcohol

My view

A cosy place (to me)

It's bed time....zzzzzzzzz

Time difference

Today I have done something I have to do for my life although I don't know whether it will be good or not and how it's going to be. I only have to wait and wait and see.... I was stressed, nervous and excited in the same time at first until I feel like I wanted to throw up. But now I calm down...and wait.

One of my friends left from one country to another country and I just feel again that time difference always make difference. LOL I have some friends in a few countries and my own clock has to be ready to figure out the time of my friends who lives outside Thailand. Actually it's kinda fun but it's not easy to share the moments.

Sometimes, I feel that England is my second home country even though I've never been there hahaha but Nam's clock can think of English local time in a second. Thanks to English football, this is the beginning of the reasons why English time is in my blood! Then, Japanese and French local time because of work, Eastern time in USA and neighbouring countries which are just an hour different. And at last Australia.... I know what you want to say "Shame on you, Nam!" Yeah, I often get confused the time difference between Thailand and Australia and for god's sake, I lived there for a year (and 3 months)!!

After I found out this happened to me, I blame the south hemisphere thing. The season makes the hour runs in the opposite direction. When the rest of the world extend their time because summer is coming, Australia and NZ shorten their time because the winter is coming. I haven't checked that if I had a friend in Peru, what would it be like. Maybe I need more space in my little brain to remember the number of hours, season and month! Sigh! lol

Strangely, when I was in Oz, I know Thailand local time by heart and maybe Japan as well but I lost the local time of the rest of the world including my so-called second home country lol...Hmm, I need to improve my calculation skill I guess. hahaha

And the first prize goes to...........

And the first prize goes to...........(sound like an Oscar, hehe)

Ultimately I won the first prize of lucky draw from F&O (Finance and Operations) New Year Party 2009 after 4 years!. I said "Ultimately" because when I worked in a previous company I also won the first prize from a division New Year lucky draw too not once but TWICE! The first time (and the first year) is MP3 Player ...the very first MP3 at that time with 64MB!! LOL and the second year I won a gold necklace :-) I still have this necklace until now hahaha. I worked there for 4 years as well butI didn't win anything big in the last 2 years before I quit.

So this is a good record. I will have to observe whether I will win anything in a new company (if I some day resign from L'Oreal, hehe)

I'm so happy. My luck is back! I hope next time I'll be lucky in love :-)

Check out some photos here.

That night, I dared trying this cocktail (not sure what it is) for 1/3 of the glass (size of vodka glass). It's quite risky for my life 555!

Namrin's new Sony LCD TV! Yo!

Lastly, for some reason, I would like to sell this LCD Television. Anybody is interested in? 10,000 baht after discount! Call me or email me or comment here....

Way too drunk

Nope, I am not drunk and wasn't drunk. I don't drink or as some of you may know, I technically can't drink. LOL

This is one of the nights I finished work at 10PM-ish and I got home around 11PM. During the walk from the sky train to my condo, I passed by this guy who made me think that "Man, you're WAY too drunk!"

Even though I don't drink myself but I think the persons who drink know their limit and this is a reminder to not try to go over your limits otherwise one day I will blackmail you, hehe!

Street is too hard to sleep on. I'm telling you so you don't have to try it by yourself :-P
You're right! I didn't dare taking close-up photographs of him because I was afraid he would awake and punch my (pretty) face! haha

But when a stray cat sleeps, he/she is professional. Look at the way they sleep. I mean the order of his body!! Graceful! LOL

The cat woke up after I took his photo. Oops! Sorry...cat

I have to think HARD! LOL

Yep, yesterday my workmate brought her laptop to work. It looked pretty good, Viao (Sony)! It's about 3 years old with 512 RAM, Pentium M 1.88 Ghz, Centrino, DVD writer I think ...and little more that I don't remember lol. It's pretty good and she let one of MIS team find out why it works slowly and he said it was because of her anti-virus program scanning files all the time. Woops!

After that, I spoke to my former-manager about the laptop. He said he could get one for me from Singapore but he had to contact the company first. Actually it's one of leasing laptaps after the contract is expired. The price is kinda blow my mind away. I thought maybe I could get it for my friend's birthday but it's 3 year-old laptop. Maybe it's not very interesting. I should ask my friend before I buy it, shouldn't I?

Today, one of our hair brands is looking for models for their Spring/Summer collection colour test (Summer here starts in March). The timing is right for me so I go for it. (29th Jan) However I have a very difficult decision to make. The theme is to dye your hair with one colour and then, highlight your hair. I'm indecisive that which shade I should go for. I'm so stressed as if it's tough assignment LOL!

Pls vote

Which colour should be highlighting my hair? This is a tough call really. Last year I did Red highlight and I LOVE it! It was such a great success (in my opinion, lol) so I would like to do it again. However, deep blue is also interesting. Violet is feasible to work on my head as well….Pls help me to make a decision. What do you think it will suit me or which colour would you like to see on my hair :-)

1) Red

2) Deep blue

3) Red and Deep blue

4) Other..….(only green, copper and violet available)

Oh, I personally don’t like copper. I think it’s too close to my skin colour.

Voting closes on 28th Jan!

Cheers for all of your opinions.

In the case you don't know what I did last summer lol:

Adverse economy

I don't mean to lecture you about how "prosperous" current global economy is at all. It's just at work, today, our MD gave his speech and greeted "Happy New Year" to everyone officially and we also listened to a speech from CEO from the video. Both things lasted like an hour....including other extra things in between. After that, I actually feel a bit discourage rather than motivated. How strange! I'm a self-motivated person. Maybe I need to be motivated from other people. Anyway, it doesn't mean that our big boss didn't encourage us but I think it just didn't work with me :-S

I think people in general (not only the management at work) talk about the decline of economy too often until I feel like we say it until we will become like it or we are like it but we say it worse than it actually is! If I was in other business, I may probably feel different. So I think we should look at the bright side and try to seek for opportunities which are obviously there or hidden there. We'd better be positive but of course, positive on realistic basis. Cheer up, people!

I managed to pick up my bank statement this morning. What's next? I'm looking for a cheap and better mobile phone than the one I'm using. I have used this one for 4 years already so you can imagine how OLD it looks and I'm afraid it's gonna be broken soon. Hopefully not but I'm afraid so. lol

Apart from a mobile phone, yep, a laptop. One of my workmates would like to sell one because she said it was kinda slow when booting stuff. I told her how about 10K baht ($285/EURO 212/ GBP 192/AUD 400 for est. current exchange rate against Thai Baht) She was quite shocked by the price I offered because when she bought it 2-3 years ago it was about 40,000ish baht. (time 4, please) Anyway, I told her it's better than sell it as a junk. She will bring it to the office tomorrow as she would an MIS member to check why it works so slowly. If it is slow, I think I get a chance to ask for more discount. LOL It's only 60GB and I don't know about other details of its capacity yet. ...still it's better to have one when you WANT one! hehe

See you tomorrow, maybe.

Today to me to yesterday and to tomorrow

While I was having lunch today, there was someone raising her voice in a local restaurant. (Most of local restaurants here are not like a proper restaurant in Western countries). I had a look at the source of the voice and I found a couple started fighting each other over a topic I couldn't hear very well even though they spoke Thai. I was sitting at the opposite end of them. They tried not to speak so loudly but apparently everyone's eyes stared at them before they realise it's non our business, lol. I just felt sorry for them. They wouldn't enjoy the meal at all. The girl started to have tears in her eyes and she was saying sth like the guy didn't care about how she felt and now maybe this is her last straw or she might get emotional from time to time I do not know. At that moment, I feel like it's hard to be a couple. It takes a lot to be a HAPPY couple I have to say. I wish I'll have a happy one but again noone knows how I will end up. The girl didn't finish her lunch and she probably lost her appetite already. They left before I finished my lunch and I thought this was the thing I was going to write it today. Now I'm doing.

Lesson to learn: Don't fight over a meal, LOL

After that, I had a haircut. I'd better call it hairtrim but to my face, it seemed that the hairdresser trimmed my bang too short. I have to say I'd better do this myself if I know it would turn out to be like this. Maybe it's a bit too trendy for now. I didn't like it that much. I thought the hairdresser would clearly understood the meaning of the length at my eyebrows. Did she understand? I didn't whine or anything. I just paid her the money and thought I would never come back again. Thanks! I have to wait for 2-3 months until I get what I'm looking for, I'm afraid. And that may be about time for sth special for me this year. Here is the today's result.

I came back to find my friend lost his laptop during his trip in Indonesia. He's safe though which is the most important part. Thank Buddha...and God if you like LOL! However, laptop is not only valuable stuff but it is quite important in today's life. I feel very sorry for him and I know it's only little chance to get it back. You can find out for more story from here www.trevssalsatravels.blogspot.com

If any of you would like to sell a laptop at a friendly price, pls contact me. I need one in next a few months or you can sell to my friend because he needs it NOW lol.

Last but not least, I just realise I would like to post my trip diary here but I can't turn the time back. If you have any idea, I can re-write the date and make it looked like I have posted it for 4-5 years ago, that'd be great. Maybe at least 2 years are already awesome! Any idea?

Tomorrow I'll pick my bank statement at a bank. Then go to work after that. It's going to be an exhausting morning!

I will re-start

Today is just a day...OK it's Sunday 18th but it's not special. It may be someone's birthday but I don't know them in person so overall, it's just a day to me. However, it will become a big day from now on because I decided that I will start updating my blog to make it a proper blog from now on. I actually have written lots lots of my traveling diary but they're all on my emails. My photos are kept on 2 websites which, unfortunately, one of them were totally deleted after I had nearly 100 albums with it. It was cancelled because I didn't want to pay for the annual fee (It was free for long time) and I don't bother to upload them again on the new website. So my photos are scattered and slightly incomplete in cyber world. Eventhough I have it in complete version on my harddisk drive but it consumes A LOT of time to upload all of them again. I will probably arrange some of them in place and I will start my blog, not again but from now on.

This is probably going to be weird to start writing this as my diary. I have stopped doing it for 5 years. If I remember right, February 2004 is the month I have given up writing a diary. Yet, I write lots of emails to friends and write postcards or letters in between. I guess I just love writing. I'd love to express my feelings, my opinions, my silly and brilliant ideas in alphabets! And I have written diary in English more than I did in Thai. Can you believe that? I can say so because I'm now 30, hehe....but still I need to learn more to be a good writer. I may become an author some day if you can live long enough to wait for me to achieve that day! lol

I may not be a good entertainer but I hope I can make you smile or laugh or cry or think hard some time som how.

Thank you for reading Namrin on the Blog :-)
